When Stranger Things first came out on Netflix, it felt like everyone in the world was talking about it. It was easy to get caught up in the story, either as a horror fan, a sci-fi fan, or just someone who enjoyed the 1980s nostalgia. One of the most iconic elements of the show was when Winona Ryder’s character Joyce used a string of holiday lights to communicate with her missing son, Will.
This year for Halloween, ITProTV’s own IT guy, Nate Copeland, decided to rig up an homage to the show. Instead of talking to kids in the upsidedown, our lights talk to an Arduino. That means, with a little code, we could make them spell out whatever we want, like ITProTV. And we figured, why not pass what we learned on to our members so they could create their own versions at home?
